U.S. authorities have arrested a man they accuse of stealing 130 million credit card numbers, which would be the largest event of its kind found in the country. According to the Miami Herald newspaper, Albert Gonzales, 28, worked with two other people into the computer systems of financial institutions to get the private data of clients and the codes of the cards.
Apparently, Gonzales, who lives in Miami, is accused of similar offenses and other pending trial on another case of computer theft.
The detainee is a hacker who signs their actions on the Internet and using the alias Soupnazi media has attacked the servers of companies such as 7-Eleven and several U.S. supermarket chains. For the offense, Albert Gonzales could face a sentence of 20 years in prison.
